    It's not like we didn't know well in advance that items that became dated were getting phased out.

    Should just wipe dated gear imo. NPC the dated gear during the migration for all characters. Having those items stick around in 2.0 is just pointless and an item database nightmare not just for the devs but for people running database websites like FFXIVPro, MoogleBox, YellowGremlin, etc.
