No Arrows in ARR?!

It's not even that it's an uneven mechanic, it's that ammo management in general is a dumb mechanic in MOST RPGs. There is never a point where you may want to use less arrows to conserve ammo, and it's not like the game provides you with limited ammo like a survival horror or FPS game would.

It's just kind of there for realism/tradition's sake, and to annoy people with inventory management.

Well, here's hoping you can get status arrows and equip to allow all your attacks chance to inflict blind, slow, silence?

And please please please keep the animation and quiver graphics. (really enjoy not pulling arrows out of my butt!)

People spend money on food and potions, but nobody else has to spend money on arrows. On my server cobalts average 40k a stack. (well, that's what they were before inflation. I haven't logged in since Atomos patch) Saying archer isn't at a disadvantage is just plain wrong.

It's not an exaggeration, you're literally spending gil on every class you play if you want to play it well. If you want to get down and dirty about it, BRD is actually cheaper to gear given the fact I can pick up tier IV piety and dex materia for far less than I can gearing out a WAR/PLD/BLM.

Actually, given the bit of TP boost you get from throwing weapons more and more LNC/DRG and MRD/WARs are buying their respective throwing weapons these days. So it's not the same as buying arrows, but everyone are buying consumables regardless of DoW/DoM. Most even stick with Cobalt for end-game and use cheaper arrows (that you can get with seals) on everything else anyway, so in reality everyone is spending the same in the long run, because Elixirs are still quite up there in price if you didn't cap off in the earlier imperial invasions, not to mention maddenin/mega potions.

I never said they don't sell, I said they're the least profitable, so your statement is completely irrelevant.

Take into the account all the mats and time you need to make all that food and consider I can make the same amount of money or more just going out and gathering some resin that people use to make militia boots.

In his defense... You're spending money trying to min-max. That's perfectly normal. ARC/BRDs are spending money just to deal white damage. From Lv1, all the way to 50, and at end game.

Maybe they don't spend as much money as someone that is min-maxing but to say that they don't spend more money flat out for doing basic things is not only disingenuous, it's not true.

Yes, really. Seriously, Elexia, it's like you are purposefully being obtuse. Yes, every job has to spend money on equipment at some point; however, no other job's equipment is constantly being consumed. GLD doesn't use up their swords while fighting, nor does any other class other than ARC. One would hope you are somewhat intelligent enough to grasp what is meant, but with each post I begin to wonder.

Can I have a show of hands who has had the "Oh No!" moment where you run out of arrows in the middle of a primal fight or raid and have tried to hide that fact from the rest of the party?

I never brought ARC or BRD to a major fight, but there were so many times while leveling that I actually went like...10 actions before I realized I wasn't lagging, I just had no ammo.

Guilty. It was near the end of the fight so it was fine. I think the worst "oh no" ammo moment for me was during the second Black Temple boss in WoW BC. That didn't end well. lol >_<;
