    It's not an exaggeration, you're literally spending gil on every class you play if you want to play it well. If you want to get down and dirty about it, BRD is actually cheaper to gear given the fact I can pick up tier IV piety and dex materia for far less than I can gearing out a WAR/PLD/BLM.

    You're the one using hyperbole.

    How does it make sense for one, and only one job be required to spend gil to level when no other does?

    Actually, given the bit of TP boost you get from throwing weapons more and more LNC/DRG and MRD/WARs are buying their respective throwing weapons these days. So it's not the same as buying arrows, but everyone are buying consumables regardless of DoW/DoM. Most even stick with Cobalt for end-game and use cheaper arrows (that you can get with seals) on everything else anyway, so in reality everyone is spending the same in the long run, because Elixirs are still quite up there in price if you didn't cap off in the earlier imperial invasions, not to mention maddenin/mega potions.
