    how to make 10mil+ gil a day (and its effect on 2.0?)

    if you spend an entire day farming atmos and selling dawn drops you can easily pull in over 10mil per day. By day i mean 16ish hours.
    Think about that. 3 days of farming and you can get nearly any relic weapon.

    Now think about that effect on 2.0.

    Here we have a game that has massive inflation with tons of people who have 1000million gil.

    So what does SE do? lets people make MORE gil.

    So new players will enter a game where most people have capped gil or much more than capped gil.

    Does that sound fun to you?

    Either that means reaching cap will be insanely easy or new players will be at a huge disadvantage for -years-.

    That is somewhat of a serious problem, especially in a game that may implement gear scores.

    If people will only invite those with high gear scores, and old players have cap gil each stored up, they will increase the prices for high-demand gear well above anything new players can reach. This means new players won't get invited to end game ls's and the elite raids. And it means many new players will probably quit. Because lets face it, who wants to spend a month repetitively farming things to even have a chance of catching up to those who are currently making 10mil a day (1/10th of the new gil cap)

    edit: even if they reduced gil, people are currently inflating prices now, and buying up items. Which means the entire economy will be a mess regardless.

    Yoshi P basically said they are removing a zero... so every gil amount will go down to 1/10 of what it is now, including our own gil, npc prices, everything... so it should have any real impact on the actual economy.

    I've noticed a huge spike in prices also. I thought it was mainly because of dwindling supply -- people not gathering or SBing as much since many are occupied with chasing Atomos around.

    I didn't know we could make gil out of this, but maybe that's also giving some players the cash to actually buy things at these higher prices. I don't think the gil making was SE's intent when implementing this event, but it was definitely an oversight that people are taking advantage of.

    On the bright side, this is probably largely affecting the upper end of the economy. It is still possible for new players to earn gil, and lower level items should still be affordable both now and into ARR... I hope.

    I crash whenever I go where Atomos is. I think that's SE's safeguard to prevent too many people making gil.
