My main is dragoon so... yeah I've used it for every bit of content. And if you want to change the core mechanics to fit one event, why not just change that single event?Of course a mage would think that the combat system was not broken. I'm sorry, but try playing a melee for caravan escort. Melees hardly get to do anything when the black mages are killing off everything before melees get to them. The only thing "slow and deliberate" about the battle system is that melees have to build their resource before they can really make a difference.
Edit: I am liking the chances I have seen (particularly the combat).
So far, everything I've been concerned about is coming true.
I think you must've misunderstood. I wasn't saying that everyone hates the changes made so far (I said the opposite later in my post in fact) I was saying that only casually browsing the "New Posts" page might give you that impression.
It isn't just that event though. I was merely using it as an example. I think the battle system is better in 2.0, as now I don't have to wait to build tp and can actually do something in a non-boss event.
This post reminds of me when I was leveling warrior, I usually got to do one or two auto-attacks before the mob was dead. I welcome this change they have done in 2.0.
I don't think there's a single thing I'm unhappy with so far. Waiting for it is the hardest part.
When I saw the Live Letter video, I was a little concerned at how long the cast times of those spells were, but I will reserve final judgment until later.
Everything else: regional servers, PVP, jumping, combat changes, world rebuilding, UI remodeling... are all shaping up to be awesome. I may finally be able to pull my friends who aren't hard core FF fans into this game.
Q20: Will we ever be able to send tells from within an instanced area?
A20: While the feature can be implemented, it’s currently masked. It’s currently masked because we would like to prevent players from harassing each other just because they know they would never party together in the future. We will continue to monitor the situation carefully as we move forward.
I love everything I heard from Yoshi-P about ARR and hope it becomes a big success because SE deserves it for actually admitting their mistakes, doubling down and fixing them.
Before I was worried about Yoshi-P listening too much to the current player base, what with all the surveys and allowing them to hold the games potential back but keeping up with the latest news has erased my concerns. I can't wait.
I'm happy with most of it. The rest isn't a deal breaker for me and I'll adapt.
Overall I'm very excited for ARR
