After seeing the specs and what the Wii U can do, I think if FFXIV is successful, it should definitely appear on the Wii U. The system has slightly better specs than both the PS3 and 360, so the memory limits they've been running into with the PS3 version would be virtually non-existent as far as I know.

With the recent announcements regarding the Wii U, I'm pretty excited about the system, but due to finances, I probably won't be able to grab the system for awhile. That's fine with me though, since it gives the system time to ferment and rise. It'd be seriously great if Square-Enix were to return in full form to Nintendo with Final Fantasy.

Yup as much as I'm not excited for the Wii U as soon as they release a new Zelda, Metroid or F-Zero game for it I'll still pay out whatever it takes to own it.

nintendo only wants family friendly games, even when they go violent they censor it (look at manhunt).

and mmorpgs are too unpredicatable. for example,

    dicks.

Friend codes will be done as the same on the 3DS. You get one code just for the system, and that's that. No more codes for each individual game.

The good thing for the Wii U if there is a port for FFXIV: ARR, is that it has more than enough RAM to run it. Take that, PS3! lol

The Wii U version of Ninja Gaiden III says hi. They fixed all that was left out and complained about on the PS3 and X360 versions. Dismemberment, tougher AI, more customization, and Ayane is in the game as a controlling character. Oh, and Nintendo is publishing this game, too.

The number of people in this Thread who are Grossly misinformed about everything about the Wii U is shockingly depressing. Aside from being unaware that it is Significantly more powerful than PS3 and 360(Quadrupal the Ram, Dedicated Graphics, Dedicated Sound and a significantly more powerful Triple-Core Processor), it also has quite possibly the best controller imaginable for an MMO. A fully integrated touch-screen for your action bars and menus is probablly the best thing an MMO player could hope for. The system will also be out two years before the Next Xbox and Playstation at half the price.

That being said, there has already been leak pointing to Two MMOs already in development for the System.

As for people talking about how Nintendo only caters to casuals and Kids, please tell me which of these your talking about..

    Assasins Creed 3
    Batman Arkham City
    Darksiders 2
Call of Duty Black Ops 2
    Ghost Recon Online
    Homefront 2
    Injustice: Giods Among Us
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge(Completely Redesigned to Return to it's Hardcore Origins)
    Tekken Tag Tournament
    or
    ZombieU?

I, for one, think not putting FFXIV on the Wii U would be a Huge Mistake. Especially if the PS3 version sells.

Not to mention, they just announced Monster hunter 3 Ultimate for Wii-U and 3DS. Sorry, but I'm a hardcore monster hunter fan, so I'm sold already (cross play as well between both those systems). And yah, Dragon Quest online already on the works for Wii-U, so XIV isn't too farfetched. All I see here are people saying how bad Wii failed. Pretty ill informed

Can't believe I forgot that. Next to Ninja Gaiden, it's the game I'm most excited for.

I agree 100%! I was lucky enough to be off work yesterday and go ahead to preorder it. The shortages are supposed to be a lot worse than what the Wii had because of the controller (due to rumors going around about manufacturing problems).

Um... what makes you think the Wii U is going to just die? The Wii lasted as long as its competitors with no problems.

Please stop stereotyping Nintendo as having shitty hardware. The Wii U is modern, has HD support, and the GamePad controller would be a good input device for the game ( could type on the screen for chat). While I'd stop short of saying I'd buy the game on the console, as I'd rather just use my PC, It's not a bad idea.

The days of the nintendo console not getting the multiplatformed games are over. The next COD game, the next <popular game here>, they are all going to be on the Wii U as well as the other platforms. Games like Zombi U continue to show that Nintendo is no longer afraid to have more mature titles.

The only thing truly bad about the Wii U is the godforsaken name.

OMG.... So am I. I immediately put in a preorder as soon as that was announced.

By the way, Monster Hunter used to be exclusively on Sony consoles. Every game in development since MH3 other than MHP3rd (only in japan) is now on Nintendo hardware. Recently sony and MS have been practically shoving their customers away with their antiquated policies, especially in regards to downloadable games- often causing such games to be inferior to the PC versions of those games.

Also: Fact- Wii did not "fail." It was the most successful of the three, especially in its first few years. It *specifically* failed with the hardcore gamer user-base. Outside of that, it was a smashing success. Now, with the Wii U, NIntendo is clearly trying to change that.

Oh, as other people have stated: No more friend codes.
