Some pretty douche-like comments here. I have to somewhat agree with the OP, while I understand their emphasis on the war putting these insanely powerful mobs in the vicinity of low-level camps like this is just going to drive away potential newer players. I was doing local leves in Ul'dah this evening when I traveled over to Camp Horizon. Had I not stopped immediately I would have been owned by the spawns in the area. I'm Lv45 but seeing how they can hit for over 500 in one shot and link in groups a crafter won't stand a chance. Even a non-crafter barely stands a chance. Just for a test I switched to my archer and shot one mob from a distance.
Immediately half the group there gave chase and had I not been as far as I was from them I'd be killed in a second. These should not be placed around the lower level camps. Spawn Atomos, but not his minions here. Honestly the two areas should have been switched. Areas in Coerthas, especially Mor Dhona will spawn Atomos and his minions, other areas only spawn Atomos who won't attack unless its attacked itself. Retain the same level/difficulty as per usual but remove the minions from these locations.

I actually gotta agree, making Atomos pop at Black Brush/Horizon and the like while keeping it a Lvl 50+ event at those camps was kind of a boneheaded thing to do.
If they're going to pop at low lvl camps they should be low lvl content, if they pop at high lvl camps they should be high lvl content...it just makes sense.
edit: now, to be actually helpful... All of Atomos's buddies are sound aggro mobs, so if you wait a sec after teleporting/returning to see if Atomos is there and toggle walk on if he is, you'll be safe adn can still get things done at the camps he now spawns at.

FFXIV "Needs" new players to increase the population. Chasing them away from the game because of ones attitude, isn't very bright ( I have all level 50's). While This event is for everyone ( more for end-game content for killing stuff), New players like to indulge themselves into all the content this game has to offer before it goes away.
To the new players: Don't worry about all the mean people, as every MMO has these types of people, Focus on your task at hand, band with what low level people you see, and make a static if you can. At this point statics will probably be your only option till A Realm Reborn. I applaud your Bravery, and may the Twelve be with you all. /bow

Instead of camp Black Brush cedarwood would be a much better place for atomos ^^

Thats what 2.0 is for & it kinda has a release date which i can tell you is not before dec 31!FFXIV "Needs" new players to increase the population. I understand, but while this game is still active, New players will come on this game. The last thing you want to do is chase them away. Make them feel comfortable to be playing here. Chase them away and it be one less person supporting FFXIV: ARR.

well.. hopping into the game THIS LATE on v1.0 has to have its concequences right? stop complaining

There is a little Monkey in all of us....
