And It doesn't matter if people deserve the program - the matter is that SE has made a program that accepts everyone until beta.

According to their offical announcment of Legacy its beta. So its not your place to say its too late now.

And yes I know the representative have given a different date but:
If you call customer service they will tell you that those where only guide lines.
Second those representative posts were not posted on the main legacy page.

And its a pretty good idea to get a cheaper rate asap - but that doesnt mean everyone else should get screwed because they arent like you.

The simple answer is that if they didn't know about legacy, the program wasn't for them anyway. It was for current supporters and/or followers of the game. Why should people who are so uninterested in this game to even keep up with news about it be given any kind of perks?

Well we'll see next week. I didn't play FFXIV before because i did not have a pc capable of running it, I was waiting on PS3 release. after more than a year of the game being out i had totally disregarded it and was gearing up for GW2. I bought a pc in May of this year, the last week of May a buddy of mine tells me about 2.0 I spend that last week reading up on it and I got excited, now it's June.

I then find out that folks who bought the collectors edition got buddy passes and that same guy had one so i make it to his house finally to pick up the disc around the end of the 2nd week of June, this is also when i discover the legacy campaign. i get everything registered and going in the middle of the month and immediately sign up for the 90 day plan so that i can try to get legacy. then comes the announcement that your game had to have been registered by the end of may and that they were cancelling the 90 day plan at the end of june, because i was in my free 30 days my billing cycle didn't come until the middle of july so i got booted off of the 90 day plan.

After that I became fully accepting that i couldn't get legacy but i was enjoying the game non-the-less. that was until the recent announcments of alpha test etc and being that the stuff about registering by the end of may was no longer on the legacy page. That made me hopefull again that juuuuuust maybe I will get it somehow, My third payment will happen early next week... we'll see if I get hooked up or not. maybe so, maybe not. i'll be ecstatic if i do though because i was expecting not to. It sux for the folks relying on october though as now it is announced to be free.

I had no sneaky intentions of just trying to jump in to get legacy. I didn't even know about it until i had already decided to play anyway, and i would hope that being there for this umbrel era and going through the events while paying 3 months would give me the chance to be a legacy member as well, I didn't have the means to play the game before and when i did, I decided to play. I still bought GW2 but that joint is still in the box unopened. if i get legacy it's going back!! ; )

Even if they weren't currently playing, they could still open the Lodestone and see the Legacy ad and requirements. Because of this, it wasn't just for the current players, it was to draw people back. Also, it didnt start right when billing started, so the people who payed on Jan 6 weren't here because of this legacy program. My guess is they started it after because not enough players stayed on when billing started. It was an incentive both to come back and for people who stayed.

That's my point. Everyone could know of Legacy if they actually had any real interest at all in XIV just by going to the Lodestone to check out the news.

If someone is so uninterested in XIV that they totally missed out on this news for months, they don't deserve any perks for being a "Legacy" player. Period.

I don't disagree with you on the communication thing. SE has always been terrible at it with overseas players.

/nerdrage, I've been back for 2 months when they said November 11th, I though oh good I'll make legacy, then this morning I wake up to find its been ripped away like a page from the necrologos! take my $10 for the free month and give me my chocobo!

Quick 2 Questions:

1: When did you Subscribe/Resubscribe?

2a: Did you Register your Registration code and Started your Free Month Trail period before May 31st?

2b: If you comming back to the game.... Did you Resubscribe before June 31st?
