I liked Final Fantasy VIII's draw system.
I do not even know why this thread was proposed.. :|
I think drawing magic sucked. One time I forgot to draw carbuncle. pissed me off.
The problem with VIII wasn't the draw system, not at all. It's so easy to get spells in that game that you don't even need to draw anything except GF.
The FFVIII Junction System allowed for the most in depth character optimization of any Final Fantasy. The only two things that have to be done to make it Casual Friendly are: Increase the Rate of Drawing Spells and Prevent Stats from lowering as spells are cast by Locking in the Bonus given at Spell Junctioning until the user removes that specific spell from the junction.
well using some spells that would lower you stats when you use them could have been a good idea but the stats changed too slowly ( 1 / 100 by spell used ) and we couldn't get them back after the fight or after a while , Golden sun and the djinn system was a lot like FF8 system but better
No Final Fantasy prior to VIII let the player completely customize/optimize their character stats.
No Final Fantasy Prior to VIII locked Summon learned ability to having the summon equipped.
Customize is a bit of a joke considering you just boosted every single stat by X amount...or you didn't have enough and in the end only boosted it by Y instead. "Optimize" is rendered completely pointless since, as with almost every other game in the series, eventually you're just hitting everything for 9999 (multiple times or otherwise) anyway.
I don't see how that's supposed to be a good thing.
