    I hope they add unique and NEW content and characters into XIV. With story-lines that are written with THIS world in mind.

    One feature I'd like to see is more class specific quests and characters to motivate people level different classes. They could also add a lot more characters to the guilds of these classes. And I don't mean just more generic flavour text-box dispensers.

    The guilds should have more unique and well written personalities that are in charge of the guilds and thus can reward the player with skills and limit breaks and so forth when progressing through these class-specific story-lines.

    Seeing FFX characters taken completely out of their context and glued on top of this game cheapens the cohesiveness of the world. FF characters and places like the Shinra, Vivi, Cid7 and Terra. Were not memorable just because of the visuals. Those places and characters formed the backbone of the stories those games were telling.

    XIV really lacks identity of it's own in comparison to the past FF titles and adding a mascot-park of fan-service seems like the last thing the storyline needs right now.

    Personally I think it's also a bit short-sighted approach.

    They tried that and look what happened. It has to be a balance of true Final Fantasy Lore with some new content to build up on it.
