Oh I didn't know we met before? Interesting, considering I'm pretty sure I've played WoW well beyond a free trial for numerous years, especially at request of some family who couldn't get into the flow of FFXI.
At least make an attempt to be snarky.

Mind explaining then? Since you're so familiar with WoW, how exactly was it mindless? Most of it's endgame content required you to be paying quite a bit of attention.
It's just every update nowadays seems to be taking out a lot 'thinking' needed to actually play the game (some would call it just making it "more user friendly"), and I'm purposefully ignoring add-ons for an obvious reason.

I think ff14 needs to be unique. The more I read on arr the more it sounds like wow
Well, it be kind hard to spam after you use up all your TP and you have to wait for the bar to fill up. ( 30TP a tick isn't really alot) about 30ish ticks it takes for it to fill all the way up.
Edit: "Feeling" like WoW in terms of the battle tempo is something I don't mind, in fact it looks better on A Realm Reborn than on WoW. ( For an Alpha Version that is) sometimes I wish my character can attack faster then what I am right now.
The one thing that WoW could never do is, tell an awesome storyline. and if the Quest Progression is this quest----> quest----> quest/Boss then I personally going to have loads of fun with this game.

Yoshi thought he do flying next. Flying mounts in a future expansion could be good.

I look forward to Black Chocobo and mini-personal airships. If they decide to do diverse mounts, there's also the option of wyrms or even giant eagles.
Which is different from the sob story of marmots crapping in Camp Black Brush's fresh water wells how?
This.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
Color me impressed. My hat is off to YoshiP and his team. Looking forward to 2.0.

What's funny is all the "unique" stuff we had at launch was a half-finished mess that made it worthy of the awful scores it got. Sometimes different is good but being different just for the sake of being different doesn't always work. A lot of the planned changes aren't making the game more "like WoW", they're bringing the game up to modern MMO standards. Did WoW set a lot of those standards? Yeah, though to be fair most of the ideas weren't new or unique with WoW either.
Even with all of the proposed changes though, the game is a far cry from being a WoW clone. It's got enough unique systems and the FF feel behind it. I think we'll be fine.
Honestly though, everyone with doubts is going to have to re-evaluate whether or not they really want to play this game once they get their hands on it. Seriously, consider whether this is a game you want to play. It's changing and some are going to love the changes while others hate them.
Edit: Also I think everyone's blowing Rukkirii's quote way out of proportion. She said the idea of HAVING to level by grinding monsters will be gone, basically that you will not be forced to but not that you won't be able to.

B-but I like generalizations. I'm going to completely forget that Final Fantasy I was a Dragon Quest clone, and FFXI was an everquest clone! Stop copying WoW SE be original!
