Soooo you want your bosses to be killed before your CS is over? you want everything easy mode? These level caps make content the way it's designed to be played, not 8x lvl 50 bumrush.Considering that raise still takes time to cast, all you're doing in that scenario is having a big sign over you that says "I'm casting raise! Please interrupt/stun-lock and kill me!". Could also have restrictive MP costs so that if you spam things you run yourself dry awfully quickly.
I'm officially not happy about the thing with dungeons. Level restrictions are going to suck to anyone who is just out to help others, unless the content itself is streamlined rather than every dunegon and fight being garuda/hard-mode nael.
I'm not excited about them being forced but it is what it is. Same system works in GW2, though for everything lol. As long as the scaling is done right there shouldn't be much of an issue with it.
If you brought in ringers, yes.
Reasonable challenge within the proper context, actually. If I can trust the developers to design low/mid-level content along the lines of how vanilla WoW Uldaman, vanilla WoW Scarlet Monastery or even Cataclysm Deadmines were, I might be more willing to cut them some slack on that. I don't, so I'm bracing myself for the worst at this point.you want everything easy mode?
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
Here is a scenario for you without level caps...If you brought in ringers, yes.

<new player> Can anyone help with xxx mission.
<LS member> dude, just solo it.
<new player> but I don't know where to go.
<LS member> fine I'll come.
*Fight is over before new player is through an awesome CS that indicates an awesome fight.*
<new player> I wanted to do the fight...
<LS member> well I didn't want to hang around, and the fight is easy
*LS drama ensues, new player leaves LS.*
This would not happen with level caps because all content is always challenging and everyone has fun.
You're looking to much at one side of the coin and not looking at the other.
As I mentioned in another post, I'm fine with wiping on current content at the level cap. It makes sense in concept and practice. I also like to run people through content if they want to be run through content. People already struggle to get the minimum 4 person requirement for lv35 Ifrit not because people go "oh, I'm lv50 so I'm just too much for that boss". It's because people don't or can't take the time to do so. It's a stepping stone to a bigger story.
What this does is try to turn the stepping stone into the goal of the f-ing quest, which is not how it works. The small time stuff is small time for a reason. And if you eventually leveled past it, you do the content to see it and move on, because there's other things to do as you work towards the level cap.
Again, I'm up for wiping on hard mode Garuda or Nael. I'm NOT up for wiping in Shposhae or Totorak.

I prefer to help people if the help is needed, I don't want to go just to be a filler, I will help with capped content if it's capped because the help is needed, whereas right now I would just be going as a filler which is pointless. You're looking to much at one side of the coin and not looking at the other.

QFT. I think how they have it now works really well. The story-line fights/missions/quests are uncapped and can therefore be completed easily if one levels past the recommended level (ideally wouldn't even have a party size requirement), but the Hard modes have strict requirements on party size and/or levels. This allows for story-line progression for everyone at their own pace, but sets aside more challenging fights/better rewards for those who are always looking for a challenge. You're looking to much at one side of the coin and not looking at the other.
