If you made this thread, but with the opposite view, Rokien would totally post in it, with the opposite opinion which he just posted. Guarantee it!

In Game pic from Deus Ex
I have been here since the alpha test and was disappointed on release as not much content and was in a bad state, we did our best as alpha testers but feedback and reports were not really taken note of. Anyhow im glad i stayed and this time i am praying it will be good...i am a little worried but i hope it lives up to everyones expectations! The game has come a long way since those days and all for the better its really nice to be part of it.
It's like if someone were to start a thread about posting pictures of puppies, and someone comes in and says "I'm not posting any pictures of puppies because pictures of puppies are not actually puppies, they're just pictures!" Yes it's true, and yes everyone is entitled to opinions, but this thread wasn't about the legitimacy of a video, it was about praising a video.I find it funny how Rokien is the only person who isn't allowed to voice his concern on the new video, when that's all he does in the first place. Everyone else who jumps to conclusions gets met with a "oh...but they have a legit argument!"
I don't agree with him on most of his nit-picking, but all he said here was he's waiting before claiming the second coming of Hildibrand. Stop hating him for the sake of hating him...sheesh.
When all else fails, Heck the Bed.
Well I don't have that strong opinion either way yet. My biggest question is the battle system and what have they done to fix it. It's impossible to see those things from a video but I must admit that the FF style music and new area designs impress me a lot more than that generic hollywood cg teal and orange trailer did. I hope they also add a lot more new mobs since just seeing the same ones recycled everywhere would feel a bit cheap.
The dragon seemed very cool and very Akihiko-esque in it's bonyness.
Did I mention I loved the music?! How cool would it be if they added a lot more tracks to ARR.
I think what excited me the most about this video was the world. If the game ends up having the same feel to it that these videos seem to show, this world will be pretty easy to become immersed in.
Who knows? The optimist in me is putting a good spin on all this and saying maybe in the end it will be a good thing that the game sucked off the bat. Maybe because of their failure SE is producing a better product this time around than the game could have been at the beginning. Their mission is more focused, and the desire for awesomeness is higher. Also, it might sound crazy, but a part of me is a little glad the game sucked. It's been quite a fun and interesting experience playing through an apocalypse. I've never done that before. And that wouldn't have happened if the game had been playable right away..
It has nothing to do with the legitimacy of the video...and that's an awful analogy. It's like if someone were to start a thread about posting pictures of puppies, and someone comes in and says "I'm not posting any pictures of puppies because pictures of puppies are not actually puppies, they're just pictures!" Yes it's true, and yes everyone is entitled to opinions, but this thread wasn't about the legitimacy of a video, it was about praising a video.
The thread was made praising the new trailer, Rokien said that he's reserving his praise on it because of what it shows. I personally love the trailer, but I also admit that it brings hardly anything new to the table as far as gameplay mechanics go. We saw small clips of 7 players running around on chocobos, and hitting a few monsters...none of which showed any UI overlay, so we're to assume the battle mechanics are the same as they are now. We know that isn't the case, but it's a misleading video. Rokien shouldn't be seen as a "buzzkill" just for stating that he didn't find the video to be incredible. Discussions generally have more than one opinion...and this one happened to be one of his more tame ones.
I want to stress this...I love the new trailer. The new La Noscea (I assume) looks gorgeous, and I can't wait to see it for myself...but this video is very misleading. It shows no actual gameplay, just "in-game footage." Everything we saw in it could be done in the current engine, minus the Limit Break demo at the end.
