FFXIV's content vs FFXI's ?

No idea, but I guess it doesn't matter, they've pretty much lost me. Logged in this weekend, and was barely able to stomach doing one guildleve. They have had almost 7 full months since they released the game. I'm done waiting for them to pull their heads out of their rears. As of now, I'm just waiting for TOR to release.

How come FFXI is getting so much more, cooler, actual content than FFXIV?

Think for a second:

FFXI Beta - 2001, Release 2002, 1 1/2 years worth of fixes and eventual expansion pack.
FFXI = not rushed out the door
FFXI = Not having to redesign the foundation
FFXI = Can be continually expanded even by reusing old zones

FFXIV? The exact opposite.

You are right, but the way this game was released doesn't follow common sense, only some obscure and unrealistic company strategy. It's understandable people would miss that point and ask such questions.
When i first heard the FFXIV release date i immediately thought that it was awfully fast, and in retrospective i was indeed blinded by my trust in SE to not realize what the only possible outcome was.

As well as the battle system they are also working on zone redesigns so again any content added now would only mean they have to change it later and move things around. So their is no point in adding it yet as they it would mean extra work down the road.

You are right, but at the same time comparing XI to XIV is still a piss poor excuse. XI has been out on the market for 8 years and had an actual stable battle system, whereas XIV is pretty much revamping everything.

Comparing the games like that is not exactly fair since one has been out for years. On the other hand SE can't afford to just spend another 6 months to a year only redesigning and fixing stuff, people are getting fed up and won't want to stick around if nothing is added content-wise.

A luke that SE don't put FFXI free when they release FFXIV, that mean FFXIV death totally. I wait for something to do but I will not wait too long.

It's called "8 years of post-release development plus several expansions".

I can't tell if this is a joke or not. Because the first 6 months of FFXI were a bunch of fixes that players asked for. The implementation of an AH, NM's, and a few Player Community Events. Which is exactly what we've had in XIV (Ward Updates, NM's, Events.) but in XIV we also had an entire new Quest system introduced with promises of more and more of them being added as patches release.
