To listen to suffer to entrust until tomorrow
In one fleeting moment, from the land doth life flow
Yet in one fleeting moment for the new leaf doth grow"

Hopefully its better, the pet AI for BSTs and SMNs in XI is actually really bad. I don't know how many times my pet has started attacking the wrong monster when I have more then 1 on me.
I know that the developers are influenced, even if slightly, by WoW. Blizzard created a nice enough balance between player control and pet AI that many players could tailor their pets to their liking. And Yoshi-P enjoys/enjoyed DAoC which had an extensive control system for its pet classes to the point where you could control the spacing of pets (Bonedancer) and have the pet tank some raids(Spiritmaster).
That's not bad AI, it's reactive to you being attacked therefore it attacks that entity (SMN).
Kind of torn, I'd prefer both honestly. I'd like to have some semblance of control for when I need it but I'd hope the AI is smarter than a bag of rocks and can at least handle itself competently most of the time.
Well, I'm wondering if having a summon out will drain your MP like it did in FFXI. Unless as an Arcanist, you have an invisible set of Carbuncle Mitts so you can keep Carbuncle out. I'm thinking it's going to be like that as the summons come out of the grimoire and not the energy that you have inside of you. I could be wrong, though.
Depends on the balance. Perpetuation cost was the balance mechanic for SMN In XI which pretty much every SMN these days can negate.
Pretty sure in a very old post i don't wanna even try to dig up Yoshi-p mentioned gambit system for choco pets, so i think they would do the same for smn.
Summoner was my main in FFXI back when it first released with RoZ in 2003. People used to laugh at me because no one understood SMN and kept saying it sucked..especially the JP lol. I always stuck with it though, before the CoP mainstream of smn!
Anyway...smn sounds really promising in XIV. I like how they are giving us dots so we don't just stand there while our avatar does all the work. I have no idea how its going to work..if its like Aion thats cool too...Spiritmaster was really powerful![]()
