    Oh no doubt i love summoner i cant to play it, im just worried it'll start out like Dark Knight did in 11. People might look at why pick a job that enfeeble wont matter if we can kill the mob faster with a DD or just another Blm?

    News to me, I can debuff most bosses just fine except for ones with strong affinity for an element, i.e it's impossible to debuff Shiva with Paralyze due to it being aligned to Ice and you can't silence enemies that are castey types or that'd simply make fights too easy lol.

    Debuffs in XIV works just fine too on most things, the problem remains with their duration -- it's way too short in some instances.

    This'll depend on whether they'll be dumb and implement stuff like Sleep and Paralyze as enfeebles vs using Attack Down, Defense Down, +Damage Taken, -Attack Speed, and so on. If they focus on the latter rather than the former, make sure that landing the debuffs is not close to impossible without extreme stat stacking, and scale things accordingly, I think debuffs would be fine. I'd be keeping a closer eye on Arcanist and SMN's DoT component, and hope that the DoT component + pet DPS puts them on par with the likes of MNKs, BLMs and DRGs.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
