I really hope not. SE has said in the PDF files that "Legendary" weapons were coming out..relics are AF weapons...omg I really hope not lol I was waiting for some really good cool looking stuff...most of the relic is meh

Ninja was never OP...? Then why do I remember at least a solid YEAR where Ninja was pretty much the only tank desired, and the go-to sub job for damn near everything? When I would invite a healer to group the first thing they would say is: Have a Ninja? If the response was no some of them would even drop the group. I also remember sitting in town @ 5/6, sometimes for an hour or more, waiting for a healer that would deal with a paladin to pop up. Meanwhile the aforementioned "NIN ONRY" healer would also be waiting in town for an hour or so for a party that had a Ninja tank. Didn't happen often since invites for healing classes flowed like water, but it did happen.
Let's not forget that dual wielding absolutely crushed 2 handed DPS for a long time. To the point that DRK were subbing Ninja and using 1 handed axes. Hell people even tried to bully me into subbing Ninja with Samurai after the introduction of Seigan and Third eye buff that allowed it to act pretty much the same as utsusemi. Or all the times people would refuse to party up with a Thief that didn't have Ninja subbed. Pre 37 mind you, I was only leveling it as a sub job. Yea, dual wield and Utsusemi (more so Utsusemi) really were that game-changing. Kinda like RDM and Refresh after 41.
As for it's tankiness...well it was my understanding that it was intended as a DD, and it's ability to tank was a happy accident innovated by the playerbase. It just happened to work so well that SE decided it better to buff Paladin and bring it up to snuff, rather than nerf Ninja into the ground. Wise decision on their part, much as I hate to admit it. Back in the XI days Ninja became something of a plague I couldn't escape.
Even so I would welcome both with open arms. Samurai was more fun than I thought it would be, my one regret was not playing it before the Archery nerf for some sweet Sam/Rng action. I wouldn't mind giving Samurai another go in a new setting. Even if they did reincarnate ninja as a blink tank, well it's a new game with new mechanics. Maybe something intentionally designed for the role won't outstrip every other tank by such a wide margin.
