they could design NIN in a complete different way. i wont think so that after the debacle in FF11 they would ever consider to make a tank out of a ninja again.
Dragoon is also designed in a total different way.

the damage ullities for NIN in FF11 have been to useless.


they can also put him into a damage dealer role by using typical ninja ullities.

As the title states, during the reveal (or around it, I forget) Yoshi-P clearly said Samurai and Ninja, but I have no idea to what extent. He could've just been comparing to XI, or something. If anyone has information about what he was saying, I'd really like to know what it was about.

Yoshida was asked if we'll see Excalibur or Masamune, his answer was; He plans to add Excalibur in some form and for Masamune you need the proper job such as Samurai or Ninja before it can be added. There seems to also be a high demand overseas for Samurai and Ninja so he plans to go with that idea. (i assume hes refering to adding Samurai/Ninja) He was then asked if whether a saya(sheath) would be available, seeing as some people want the class to have a saya this time around. He replied maybe if the animator, character designer and programmer tried their best.

SE never really made NIN into a tank, the community did. Pretty much someone figured that utsemi+eva could hold hate and mitigate damage, and it worked XD

And I'm kinda ashamed to say it, but I'm glad the community did that, shows you the creativity of people. They took a job that wasn't intended to tank, and they made it into one!

You never played FFXI, did you? Nin was never pampered by SE -- They even had to change their original direction for ninja because players turned it into a tanking class lol. Only SAM was "pampered".

Btw, MNKs are top tanks in XI atm.
