The 'one new guy at the top' is the leader, telling those not-new guys what to do. And if you have ever been in a leadership position not knowing what your team is capable of makes shit so much harder and sometimes even make things worse because you give certain people the wrong job. Its less efficient to say the least. That's what most people who mention they're new are talking about I think anyways (at least that's what I meant when I mentioned it a few times... I prob shouldn't talk for others).

Anyways look at what has been released lately, they have all been incredibly minor changes. Now read how many threads/posts have completely annihilated those minor changes and bashed them to all hell. ROFL I'm not entirely surprised they haven't released any more info. Sucks though I too am curious and interested to know whats to come.

It's a long process. Sometimes you've got multiple departments working together. Sometimes the coding breaks something else. Sometimes the code doesn't have any comments and you are forced to put together what's going on. Sometimes you are in the middle of one thing and something more important gets dropped on your desk.
    This is Correct.

I work for a Healthcare EMR company. We have a massive Program already designed/built/and in production for the last two years, but the vender has proven to be unable to maintain the level of development we need.

We've instigated taking on a new vender to design us a new UI for our whole database.

Its been approximately a year and a half since we first contacted them and as far as I've been informed they haven't even started coding the new UI. Its been all up contract negotiations and designing and "Drawing" the UI so we know what it might look like.

We are not even expecting the Basic model to be functional for another year. Then the full functional model to be ready in 3 years.

And all it is, is a UI that lets you keep records of Doctor Patient Visits and the effects of wound management on a wound over time.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

The team is not just "slightly" restructured since they didn't just add Yoshi and a few nobodies. The team was changed significantly considering they added some trusted/key people into the lead roles.

Dividing them into old/new team allows people to know either Tanaka or Yoshi was under control. However, In sports(or anything with a "team") if you get rid of the "core" of your team for a fresh line up then technically you have a "new" team.

side note: Kam I have yet to see you post anything as being aware of the situation. That's just one persons opinion though. I would hate to think you are a troll if you really aren't one.

No argument there, however things can take a deal of time to fix. I remember in one post, the new director (whoever it is) said he had to spend some time figuring out who is good at doing what and how quickly. I also wouldn't be surprised if it took him some time to ID short term goals and start working on long term ones. There might be a culture change needed, that takes time too. There might be interoffice politics and backstabbings going on slowing things down. Something you thought was fixed gets broken in a patch. I'm sure there were more than a few long meetings of people asking for ideas on how to fix this game.

I would like this game fixed/altered/finished/whatever but as someone who's worked in development before, I can assure that these things take time. Until then, you've got to tolerate the lemons as best you can if you want to be in it for the long haul. Will FF14 ever be a great game? Not in the next few years, that's for sure. It might get better with a few expansions, but at this point it would be unfounded optimism for this game to ever be great. Is it still salvageable? Yes. If the right people are in charge. If they have what they need. Good is still a possibility with time.

Whether you want to wait it out or not is up to you.

    good arguments for both sides,
i think as much open communication from SE will make the world of difference,

i personaly think its been too long, but if there was more communication from the devs to the players(that are acctually playing btw, not waitin for the PS3) it wouldnt be so bad

I guess that we can stop... uh... "beating a dead horse" and simply wait them for an update.
And drop that "waiting painfully" since there's always something to do while waiting.
