Actually, in this case its more like he thinks OP needs to have played the game to make any sort of suggestion concerning gameplay.

Man, by this logic, i should totally give medical advice to people! i've never taken any classes in the medical field, but i took a biology course in high school guys, you should all totally listen to my advice!

If you were studied up enough on medical books, then yes you could give advice.

Everything in XIV and most MMOs comes down to math. If you understand the formulas and principles behind stats, you can give advice to anyone before you've even played the game. If you think otherwise, you're sorely mistaken.
