I see plenty of people in Limsa and Gridania on Fabul >_> Likewise people still put their retainers in the wards and people still browse the wards.

Did you expect something witty?

I think it's because of the circular design of the city that makes it easier to navigate. Everything is close together. If you ran out of anima you could walk there from 1 other city since it's halfway, making it an ideal choice for leve exchange. I think that's really all it was.Nope, nobody uses Limsa Lominsa or Gridania anymore, they're all packed into Ul'dah. That's what the problem is. What's so great about Ul'dah anyway, compared to the other two? Personally, the desert landscape is the least appealing to me, out of all three areas, but that's how it goes, I suppose. Square Enix should work on discovering what it is about Uld'ah that has players flocking over there and balancing things out so that players can enjoy all three cities equally.
And when Ishgard comes out, depending on what you can do around the city, it'll probably become the Jeuno of this game. I think that's inevitable. Since it's new content, Square Enix will want to make it more appealing than the other cities, and the rest will come.
Player
If SE would delete Gridania and LL completely most ppl wouldn't noticed and the rest probably wouldn't care anyway.

I use the Limsan and Gridania markets mostly - I very rarely touch the Ul'dah ones.
Reason - I'm not online every day. So if I want my stuff to actually sell while I'm away, I need it to be in an environment that does not constantly crash and expel my retainer.

I miss LImsa SOOOO freaking much... so sad that no one is there D:
Gridania is fun every so often, just hate how there is no 'free roam' feel to it

I will say that I do use the Limsa wards more than I use the UlDah wards simply because I'm there more. And they really aren't that desolate. The only problem is that if you want a rare item, you will likely not find it in Limsa. More common stuff? Good chance. Limsa isnt as deserted as some would lead you to believe... at least on Besaid

WHICH is the exact reason I wish I was on Besaid. The community there seems more fun and talkative. On Lindblum, it's pretty desertedI will say that I do use the Limsa wards more than I use the UlDah wards simply because I'm there more. And they really aren't that desolate. Figaro's Limsa remains relatively populated too. Our Ul'dah is thus bursting at the seams of course.

I think most people put their retainers in Uldah because....
Uldah tends to be the center of activities, if you wanted to go to grid or LL you can either walk east or west. Most common activities for SP tends to be at Broken Water and Halitali, on the lower end Nanawa and Nophica. Also Uldah isn't a dead-end city, Once you reach either LL or Grid you can't simply go to Grid from LL or vice versa considering time, you'd have to traverse through thanalan first to get to either. Convenience always attracts players. If something connected Grid to LL, maybe it wouldn't be the case. That's just my 2 gil XD.
On another note I'm tired of waiting for chocobos. I say we outfit dodos for transportation.
