I dunno about you but I usually run around with 150/200 on me and at least 100 of those slots are gear. With the new gear set system your gear will be taken out of your inventory so it's not really limiting as it might seem at first.

the inventory increase was only temporary. With 2.0 we get better inventory management like gears on your chars and gear sets don't be in the inventory.

Maybe I sell all the NQ mats in my inventory before november.

Yoshi also said something about a mannequin system that will help to alleviate inventory woes too so that will help greatly.

And with them requiring separate gear for all classes/jobs, including DoH and DoL they really need to do something drastic with inventory. I could not imagine playing xi with my 480 spaces of inventory if I had to have full gear sets for each of my jobs and crafts. Even something simple as weapons would overflow if my thf and dnc couldnt share daggers and my rdm and blu couldnt share swords, etc. Its the little things that add up.

With the current planned set up you will be able to create enough mules to store your excess items <unless you are a complete packrat like me>.

It wasn't a choice to limit our current inventory, it was a choice to temporarily expand our inventory way back when. In the very same patch the change was made it was listed in the patch notes with a little * note saying that it was only temporary. Of course very few listened at the time and even fewer who have come back since then even know about it. Inventory space is just going back to what it used to be and apparently where Yoshida thinks it should be.

As others have stated, we have time to prepare. If you're really worried about it then condense your inventory however you have to.

Also they are not limiting us, they are just bringing us back to normal. Just like how people think taxes are going to be raised when taxes are like the lowest ever.
