There is no best race, and there is also no Galka in this game, that's FFXI.

Racial stats are even more trivial in FFXIV than FFXI, play whatever race you want.

We also have no idea what stats arcanist/summoner will use, so this is really a pointless question to ask.

But the Galka looked better than the Roegadyn, and the Lalafells look better than the Tarutarus.

Go Galka, that way you can survive at least 2 hits while resummoning.



Actually, races do have slight racial and gender bonuses and clan bonuses, however it doesn't fully matter as the stat system in this game is formulated badly.

There is actually no difference between stats on different races at level 50. the varience starts at level 1 and eventually balances out as you get closer too 50. So play whateever race you want man.

Since This is FFXIV and Mages can use shields, wouldent mine having summoner use staff and whip's just like rydia from FFIV

The differences between races as far as I can tell are static, thus as a percentage the difference is smaller at higher levels, but there is still a difference- It's slight however and there's no reason to choose one class over another by stats. Choose by appearance.
