Race change option is pretty likely. 90% I would say. Remaking your current character's looks is confirmed, but name/race is not completely. Although last I read Yoshi was pretty heavily leaning towards it. I probably won't change but the option would be nice.

Pretty much every FFXIV site had this statement released when the 2.0 first screenshot was released. While that isn't officially straight from SE i suppose, I'm going to figure that the people writing these articles were told as such.
