Thats hardly the intention, just an intelligent observation lol. I like to write, so I wrote. What ppl do with it is their own business.
I'm glad you got the point. Thats what connotations do, they make associations between two different words that actually have two different meanings. But as you just said, it still has the same vibe. Thats exactly what I was trying to convey. The two words aren't actually synonymous, but they became synonymous.
Bingo.Oh.. A TV with a bunch of cracks in the screen is viable for watching shows, however it might not be as acceptable as a TV with an unbroken screen... Basically though, no one's coming to watch the game at your house....
EDIT: And honestly the connotation is so strong I had to actually double-check a thesaurus. Goes to show what I was trying to illustrate.
