Lousioix anticipates the summoning will fail?

I had a little bit of trouble following, but I think I got it and mostly agree. Take the prophecy as a guideline:

Stay seeds quicken in ash's grey embrace,
Valiant blades forged under the Twelve's good grace.

I believe Louisoix feels the summoning of the Twelve will work, but it won't necessarily be enough to avert the catastrophe right now. This is, for all intents and purposes, a last ditch effort. Dalamud is falling still and there's nothing that can be done in the time remaining but hope the Twelve can be summoned and some of Eorzea can be saved. So, it's the "last resort," according to Cid in Louisoix's words (this is said in the instance right after Darnus is defeated).

And, as Urianger says at the end of Living on a Prayer:

Dire though they may seem upon first hearing, the words of Mezaya Thousand Eyes are, in sooth, a promise of salvation. Yet whence that salvation wouldst come, no man can say.

Louisoix goes onto say that, "Hereafter, I make ready to receive Dalamud...", which, to me, says that while he's sure of our position and place in the things to come, he's not very certain of his capabilities and whether the Twelve will listen to our plea. As a result I believe that's why, in the end, he'll take action to preserve our lives so that we may be the salvation Eorzea needs when the time is right.

Ultimately: yes, I agree he's uncertain as to whether or not the summoning will work, and yes, he has faith that we're what will usher in the salvation, whether it's the summoning or some unforeseen act in the future.

Thanks Kory some of that i missed and you help clear it up. especially the part where some of Eorzea might be saved and others being damaged cause it explains the look of some of 2.0s Concept art very closely.


it'll be interesting to see what happens from what Lousioix says the next mission/s involve fighting some kind of monstrosity during the summoning and fighting VIIth legion
>.> it's really making me wonder if we finish the mission and story-line wise Lousioix does send our character to the future are we exiled off server until 1.0 closes down to keep with immersion or are we allowed to bum around and finish things off without a real explanation on how we are still allowed too.
