PS3 Limitation.
When I saw the picture of a Chocobo fighting alongside you, an idea came to me that you could mount and dismount said Chocobo with it remaining in the world and not vanishing after you dismount said Chocobo.
I'm definitely not implying that it's the most immersive feature. Nor do I think it would be anytime soon if added at all. Feel free to post any other ideas of the like that would be interesting if added. But a highly doubt it would cause much lag if you think of it as another layer of ws effects that are already in the game.
What happened to the seasons they promised us? D:
Pretty sure we were gonna get seasons.
This would all be possible with a better engine. It just takes a first big (and expensive) step to realise it.
With this new engine, who knows.
Perhaps it would work in instanced areas.
But yes, too many particles/polygons = too much rendering = too much lag.
A brilliant idea however.
I don't care about rain dripping off armour, but seasons would be absolutely epic. Seriously. I mean, they could be creative about it, too, instead of going by Earth's seasons. Perhaps have seasons last about a month. They could have three seasons, five seasons, whatever. Make it based on the magical elements in the world, having certain fights become tougher in certain weather and have that weather more likely to come about in certain seasons... would be genuinely interesting economy-wise! You could have mobs come out in certain seasons, you could have trees lose their leaves, different/more/less drops from gathering, all kind of stuff.
If they managed it, it would blow my mind. ...I don't think it'll happen. xD
