Nothing relevant to the MMORPG market will happen on april the 19th.

Yoshida will probably post some info this week simply because it'll be the pre-patch week, and he already promised on his producer letter that info will come before the 1.17 patch.

Though, I see hidden in this thread a lovely chance for improvement of the quality of posting on this forum. Can't wait for the 19th now

Unfortunately its going to play out with SE most likely releasing some info or the patch next week...then belgian staying and of course taking credit for it somehow. I'd like to know who these "many others" that plan to be leaving on the 19th as well. Only person i've seen say that is of course belgian, oh and one other person....thats about it.

Don't get me wrong, i'll be picking up portal 2 as well (The first is so damn fantastic) but i'm not quitting this over it. Don't let me talk you out of leaving though belgian, hell by all means make it an earlier date.

Random date is random. The only argument you seem to have for it is the lack of media coverage it might bring. However FFXIV don't have any media coverage and won't have any except from a few ff specialized and mmorpg specialized website until the ps3 version release.
