No-one said anything about portal 2 don't know where you're getting that from. As belgian said though, they have until the 19th until it is too late.

Portal 2 is the only thing that happens on the 19th that will have the slightest effect on the gaming market (while not on the MMORPG market).
They have until they think they're ready. Haste basically never brings any good result. Arbitrary doomsday dates are ridiculous.

I got the CE edition, man di i feel riped off. got a book and a dvd that they released for everyone to see. so that sucked. I never said i'm jumping ship i'm just disapointed with the game. I do not think theirs a single person that is NOT dissapointed with FFXIV. The game was fun 1-20 then got lame fast.

SE really needs to get some shit into this game that people want to do. If they do not people will keep leaving even faster.

Still you paid 80 bucks for Modern Warfare 2, which is even more sucky.
(Not saying that you actually bought it, but out there is a world of worse things that have been released in a much higher price.)

I guess that if they would have released the game internationally after 1 - 1.5 years it got released in JP, nobody would have been b*tching around.
The state in which FFXIV is right now is BETTER than when it was for FFXI. Things just take time.

Just to point out that even Rift doesn't have so much content, and they are adding it just now.

I'm not saying Portal 2 won't have it's fanbase, but if it doesn't have "Call of Duty" in the title, I don't really see this as being the case.

I agree. The game is in a fairly dire state as it is, six days isn't going to make much of a difference. That belgianrofl guy is a little confused.

Anyways, that's not to say that I think the game will gain popularity in the future. To the contrary, I do in fact think the game is as doomed as all these naysayers say (and naysay) . Obviously I can't predict the future, but considering the two possibilities; the first of which being that FFXIV improves (with the implementation of auto-attack and aggro indicators) and becomes a great success, and the second possibility being that FFXIV fails because they were slow with updates, updated the wrong things, and essentially fell behind the competition, then I can't help but think the second possibility is the most likely.

I don't think revamping the combat system is the way to go, especially while the trainwreck that is the questing/lvling system is allowed to remain intact. And I don't think the game failed because of lack of aggro-indicators.

They should be focussing on emphasising FFXIV's assets (i.e., beautiful game world and character models, realistic scenery, immersive crafting and class system) rather than compromising those with so-called "patches" which only destroy what theyve accomplished.

Guildleves, bad unresponsive UI and network code, market-ward crashes, solo stories which are few and far between, static boring world, nothing for players to work towards ... and so on and so on... all of these are the reasons the game failed. Aggro indicators and auto-attack should not have been a priority above the rest. In fact, additions like these are just fuelling the fires that consumed SE's game to begin with.

Solchract was correct to say that FFXIV does not have a player base waiting for them. The single player Final Fantasy games are almost incompatible with the concept of an MMO with a crafting and social system like FFXIV's. As such, SE cannot rest on the assumption that they will have fans at the ready, even for PS3 release, unless of course SE decides to place a greater emphasis on story and almost no emphasis on crafting/grinding.

As such, the reasons the game will fail are manifold. In the first place, they are changing the game for the worse; implementing changes which destroy the good features of the game, and focussing on things which are not a priority. In the second place, for all the good their changes will do them, there will be none who will play the game anyway.

For me.. The game is a pile.. Seriously its really in ALPHE state. A fighting game but their still designing it?? I mean WTF? No matter how much we want the game to succeed its all ready a failure. No matter how long the game was in designer they failed. From ALPHA to BETA to release it was crap. Hell the game is still in ALPHA. IF you DISSAGREE tell me why.(if i misspell a word just pass on it, get a better reason to doubt my thesis)

As for me i want the game to kick *** ass, but...That's not going to happen to late to long. Even with the PS3 release, it going to fail.

This is correct.

When you make a claim, the burden of proof is on you. So in this case, you claim that the game sucks and has failed. You further claim that it will never recover, even with the PS3 release.

You have to prove these things... we have no burden of proof.


P.S. Your spelling and overall English is atrocious... and you admit to not caring. There's no reason to take anyone seriously who can't take a minute to check their spelling when that pretty red line shows up under a word.

Holy crap that actually sounds awesome. And this is coming from someone that doesn't like Call of Duty, I'm more of a TF2 person.

I don't really care, I have fun playing the game and that is all that matters. I know it will be something amazing in the future and I can wait for that day patiently. While I wait I will have fun leveling up and becoming the best I can be.

For all of those that seem to have such a huge problem with the game, then leave. And if you insist on staying, then just be quiet already. We all know you have a problem with the game's current state... you can stop crying about it now. We get it.
