darksteel armor and the like

a few ls members of mine told me that darksteel armor sucks and u cant use it on pld and war and no one playes gla/mar and as far as mertia goes well converting it inot crapy one is also a wast of time why do we have them if we can meld them with good mats and cant use them

Darksteel armor does not "suck" and you can use it on PLD/WAR.

Lots of people play GLA and MRD.

I'm not sure what you mean about "converting it into crappy materia" means, you might want to clarify what "it" is.

Melding materia is how you use materia in this game.

Nobody plays GLA/MRD and you can't use heavy darksteel armour on PLD/WAR, just like you can't use gryphonskin on BRD or vanya on BLM.

They are pretty frivolous items, and not sure why the devs really bothered to put so much effort into such superfluous showcase pieces.

I think hes talking about Heavey DS armor. From what I remember those are GLA/MRD only.

regular DS armor like the DS hauby can be used with WAR/PLD

Thanks for the explanations. He didn't say heavy, but it wouldn't surprise me if his lsmates didn't know Darksteel armor for PLD and WAR exists anyway.

converting and melding are 2 different things.

What I think this guy is trying to say is that he doesn't want to convert his heavy darksteel (now that I figured out his talking about heavy darksteel) into a possible crappy materia. But he doesn't want to meld materia to it if he "can't" use the heavy darksteel armor.

You CAN use heavy darksteel armor. If he doesn't want to use it he can sell it.

The lesson here basically is don't drink and post.
