I agree with you but let me ask you why do you need to be pessimistic? If you play for yourself I don't think you need to be. But if you depend on what others think then yes you need to be pessimistic.

They will straighten themselves out and I hope for the best. I am sure we will have a game to play for years but I give it until fall 2012 before the game is complete.

what silence? they said it was gonna be out before the 24th and that while including an event it till contain per for the upcoming dungeons.
they released some photos about the increased size of effects, and the new icon. We already know a high priority are battle changes the launching of companies, and instanced dungeons.

Take a break and do other stuff. There are other things in life to do other then worry about a game . And b4 you say you spent money. I did also i bought games that were not good. I don't hang around on forums of games I disliked.

I paid $50 to play a game that will soon reach a PS3 community from a developer that has made wonderful games in the past. Not only is there a temporary removal of subscription fee at the moment, but I get to play part into how the game turns out by posting on these forums. It may suck now, but there is a communication between developer and community with FFXIV that other MMO companies do not and will not provide to their customers.

I have expectations and I'd like to see the ideas I've seen taken into consideration. Should everything work out and Square Enix provides us with a game that a majority of the community desires, I will be incredibly pleased.

I'm enjoying every bit of FFXIV. Go ahead and "jump ship" now. I won't follow you overboard.

I got the CE edition, man di i feel riped off. got a book and a dvd that they released for everyone to see. so that sucked. I never said i'm jumping ship i'm just disapointed with the game. I do not think theirs a single person that is NOT dissapointed with FFXIV. The game was fun 1-20 then got lame fast.

SE really needs to get some shit into this game that people want to do. If they do not people will keep leaving even faster.

This is from the last letter.

Patch 1.17 contains an upcoming seasonal event slated for April. If we keep all of the other initially planned content, however, we wouldn’t be able to have the patch ready in time to coincide with Eas—errr, said seasonal event in the real world. So we’ve reduced the volume of patch 1.17 down to about 70% of its original size, and pushed the remaining 30% over to 1.17a. This way, all of the content can be released with minimal delay in between, and it will also allow us to get this holiday event released in time (don’t worry, there are no bells in this one).

Even so, this still won’t make up for all of the time lost from our original schedule. As a result, unfortunately, we’re going to have to forgo the event planned for a national Japanese holiday in early May. Since the April seasonal event kicks off later than intended, it will continue even after April 24th in the real world—whatever that day may be. I realize this is all less than ideal, but hope you understand and bear with us.

One last thing. A portion of the changes in patches 1.17 and 1.17a are preparations for the mid- and high-rank PvE content planned for later release. As soon as we hammer out the basics of the new dungeon and raid environments, we’ll be throwing out some screenshots and introducing them to you.

How am i being negetive when i'm stating the facts? Yes i know it takes time to creat content, Yes, SE released the game in Alhpa state, Yes, people are leaving the game. (I do logg in for a bit maybe 30 min tops, but just bored with it). EVERYONE would like to see endgame content.

I just want the game to want me to play. I loved FFXI played it for 5 years.

So maybe i'm exspecting to much from the game. I could never understand why you wouldn't take FFXI content and tweak it a little and put it into FFXIV. Hell even put WoW content and tweak it as well. Seems like a win win to me.

Or better yet come up with something NEW and DIFFERENT that isn't a WoW Clone or FFXI-2. But the main fact that you don't have endgame content is that they are looking at if not actually changing the entire battle/combat structure. More than just adding auto-attack. And because of that content is going to have to come second. Or do you want them to have to redo all the end game content after the revamp the combat so that it works again?

I'm not waiting for endgame. I could careless So don't speak for me I just want to play. I spent money on CE and can't even play it since my pc broke. You causing uneeded doom and gloom, and your opinion isn't truth.

take a break if the game bores you. check back after a while. You're just stressing yourself out.
