State of FFXIV as of 4-9-2011

Well me and my Linkshell actually headed back to FFXI the other day and started new characters while we wait and see what happens with FFXIV. It seems we weren't the only ones too as we ran into a few people while parting in the Dunes that were doing the same. Must say I have had more fun the last few days on FFXI than I have had in FFXIV for a while now and that's sad.

Really hope they can turn FFXIV around and I am sure they will, just think it's going to take a while to achieve that, so while they do that I'm playing I will carry on in FFXI. Still going to log in to do our Leve runs though, it would be stupid to waste all the easy SP ^^

Seriously dude get a grip. So the game failed to live up to your standards on release. Guess what it did that to just about everyone. The only difference is that some of us aren't just giving up on the game and off to play what new WoW reboot is currently out. So please go back to Rift or Terra or what ever and bunch your panties as I hear Guild Wars 2 will be out soon enough, though apparently not soon enough for you as it seems.

@ OP,

I paid $50 to play a game that will soon reach a PS3 community from a developer that has made wonderful games in the past. Not only is there a temporary removal of subscription fee at the moment, but I get to play part into how the game turns out by posting on these forums. It may suck now, but there is a communication between developer and community with FFXIV that other MMO companies do not and will not provide to their customers.

I have expectations and I'd like to see the ideas I've seen taken into consideration. Should everything work out and Square Enix provides us with a game that a majority of the community desires, I will be incredibly pleased.

I'm enjoying every bit of FFXIV. Go ahead and "jump ship" now. I won't follow you overboard.

Do we honestly need threads like these? You guys know what the plan is. You know the game is changing and know it takes time. Things got delayed and the teams with the game are doing what they can in the conditions they must work in. Remember they cut off a good bit of luxery to even keep the game on. We don't need these posts, they are just to start drama where none is needed. If you can no longer wait, bow out gracefuly. You don't need to spread doom and gloom. The time for whining is gone.

SE knows the issues and doing what they can. It is not easy to make a game.And it is not easy to work in their conditions either.

They are not still designing it , they are RE-designing it, that's why content is taking so long to get here. If that didn't need to be done we would have more content by now, but alas expect to wait.

Alpha? Really have you ever played any MMO that's in alpha because dude that's pretty ugly. FFXIV currently is in it's later stages of beta considering how smooth it is. You do not seem to understand how long development takes for these things, another indication you've never been in any long term beta or alpha, because if you did you would know that at this point you grab a cup of coffee and you chillax for another three months at least.

Ok so after i wait 3 more months for content.. what next another 3 months. Like i said i want the game to WIN but come on... its just so bad and so so boring. yay leveling up is the only thing to do. ok, ok NM's also but dam thats not content thats just crap.
