Can't say I agree. I hate it when games use too much desaturation. The world has more color than that. There's a hapy medium between superultrasaturated intense color, and "clothing that's been washed too many times with too much bleach" desaturated.Still not peachy with it looking like a flippin chainmail bikini on girls. If anything I'm a little more dissapointed.
But it's a small thing overall, so not too bad.
Those crazy bright colors on the armor are a little silly looking though. Hope they have an option to keep the subtle colors in.
I can understand what you mean, undersaturation can make a game feel dull or lifeless. But I feel XIV has a good range of color for its visual style. The armor in the preview site looks a little too bright and cheery to be used for a realistically styled RPG. I like the natural tones on the current armor. It looks like they where dyed from natural resources instead of chrysoiodine, pararosaniline, and RED 122 (side note, avoid eating RED 122).
I really hope for something more along the lines of Guild Wars 2 when it comes to dying. I want the freedom to make what colors I want. Some people might complain that people will come up with stupid mismatch things but people already do that now in XIV for stats. And on top of that, I haven't seen crazy color combinations in any of the beta weekends for GW2.
I like the new one, maybe because I've been in love with Valkryia Chronicles...the game art and colors is beautiful

I can't believe we are having this discussion again, and complaints... I remember when the new dye system came out all of you had the same complaints! Then it was released and everyone went... "Oh it isn't that bad" seriously guys have you guys not learned anything in the past 2 years... don't complain till you try it, because 90% of the time your complaints are wrong because you assumed to much.

Precious precious complaints.I can't believe we are having this discussion again, and complaints... I remember when the new dye system came out all of you had the same complaints! Are you talking about when a color decided which stats you had? That was such an awful system...I can't believe we are having this discussion again, and complaints... I remember when the new dye system came out all of you had the same complaints! Then it was released and everyone went... "Oh it isn't that bad" seriously guys have you guys not learned anything in the past 2 years... don't complain till you try it, because 90% of the time your complaints are wrong because you assumed to much.
no not that part, and I agree that was dumb imo. I meant people saying the color's were not FFXIV style, and then the patch released and they said it actually worked.

You will have people complain either way. It's always a loss for someone. I say just give us a dye system where you give us a certain amount of colors and go from there. Not talking about crazy colors, but one's that make sense.
