I was disappointd and surprised that my PC couldn't run on High settings (espcially not in Uldah) I'm looking forward to playing 2.0 on high settings. ^^

ITT people who don't know about the game development process
When doing LIVE DEMOS you want a build that you're absolutely sure is not going to break. You want to run it on a machine using settings that you know is not going to cause stress or crash the game. In LIVE DEMONSTRATIONS, graphical lag is seen as much much worse than lower graphical quality.
TL;DR wait til you see official PRE-RECORDED footage to say "Oh my god /unsubscribe"
Or bring a machine that can handle it.ITT people who don't know about the game development process

its only lower quality on consoles, but the game looks better for me, like seen on 2.0 video
I don't really care about graphic quality unless it drops to a level far lower than now and that doesn't seem to happen.
Also, like many others said already, it was for a live demonstration.
The game is supposed to run smooth on PS3 as well which can't just be enhanced the way you can upgrade your PC.
ALSO, and this is something Yoshi himself said many times during the presentation, it's a pre-alpha-build. Let's wait til next year when the game is released, set it on high settings and THEN judge if the quality of the graphics dropped to a level we can't bear..![]()
i'm a regular smuck that doesn't know much about the POWER OF GRAPHICS
but i have no idea what the hell everyone is talking about
these graphics are fucking beautiful

always looking for good people.
i'm with the regular smuck on this one lol. not only are the graphics in this game amazing, but the aesthetic is pristine and this in turns makes the graphics look even better.

I guarantee you guys that the graphics are better. Think about it. The goal was to redesign the graphic engine to allow for better optimization than the Crystal Engine (which I'm sure looked like spaghetti code). They're not going to redo models for things that are carrying over from 1.0 to 2.0. They're not going to redo textures (see THE GRASS *oh noes*). That's too much unnecessary work for the art and modeling department who are busy doing new models and texture for, oh I dunno, all the new areas mobs and gear. Two of the major things that make the game aesthetically pleasing ARE NOT CHANGING.
So what is changing then? Shaders and lighting. See all the cool shadows? See how everything kinda just feels more deep? That's the immediate visual result of their changes. Internally I'm sure there's a ton of optimization. But the ONLY THING you're seeing that's different are the VASTLY improved shaders.
And you're fooling yourself in thinking that you won't be able to crank up the anti-aliasing, ambient occlusion, and/or draw distance to 11. See my earlier post as to why you're aren't seeing the best of the best from live demos and screenshots from Yoshi-P's laptop.

Character models and world textures are down graded.
World design is about 10xs better.
So worse graphics better design I would say.
