I highly doubt that, or else you won't be the first one here on the forums to complain about it.

If the game was static that might be true but they update on a monthly basis. Every time they play with the code and recompile it, they can forget a line with a yes or a no. Still, until I have Ksenia crafting with no exper buff I can't be sure.

Use crafting abilities. Maker's Muse and Sure and Steady are easy to get, so are the Brands. You want enough abilities focused on progress to finish synths and then add some quality focused ones when you can. Brands are good for both if you get unstable a lot.
Using the right abilities is the key for successful crafting.

Agreed. If nothing else this forced me to review the way I crafted and I can see that there is enough versatility in the system that you can circumvent most fatal progression. If it isn't a simple bug it's working as intended and looking at crafting in a larger aspect to change even a little thing will ripple through the crafting and create exploits. The way it is right now it's a trade off depending on how you kit your traits.Use crafting abilities. Maker's Muse and Sure and Steady are easy to get, so are the Brands. The only thing I am still unclear on is, the actions and traits. It says I can kit 7 but if I do that it turns them all in to a lottery pool. I can actually only kit 5 and be sure they will will be in the list when I craft. Not sure if that is working as intended or a bug.

I believe it is working as intended. Ultimately you can set up to 10 abilities (if your level is high enough), but only 5 will be available during any given synthesis. I and most people I know don't like having random abilities come up, so we tend to set only the 5 we use most so they come up every time. The only thing I am still unclear on is, the actions and traits. Indeed this was newly added. And intendedI believe it is working as intended. Let me put it this way then. If they ninja-screwed this, then people like me will have been failing non-stop. And I can never use up my rested bonus because all my jobs are at 50.
I think your luck is just terrible. I mean its common to get one or two unstables during a synth above your level. Brand of abilities are practically required. So I'd highly recommend you get them. They rebalanced the instability thing because we have so many free pass abilities now. Get as many crafts as you can to lvl 10. It doesn't take very long. That should give you some really good abilities to use. I honestly think your abilities are subpar. Look through the ability list and pick out some easy ones to get.I think I might have figured out my fail. There is no way to be sure but I think the exper buff from Inn is actually creating the problem. I had a character that I hadn't developed. She was logged out at a fishing spot as a Lv. 6 Fisher girl and nothing else. So I logged her in, completed the starter quest and put her in the Inn for a night. She was able to get Goldsmith to 10 on green bar exper 150% and I saw the same patterns of fail with her but as soon as her exper bonus expired she was rocking out 300+ quality Synth's. It's too early to be concise but I'd say the 50% amplification from exper is influencing more than just our experience gained. It's creating instability in how we craft as well.
EDIT: Getting them all to 20 is even better..that should give you most of what you need.
EDIT: Like it is practically impossible for me to fail a synth now. Like really practically impossible, even for something 10 levels above me. The more abilities you have the better. Without them you are fucked.

Leather, Armor and Blacksmith to 10 is really all that's "needed" and it is needed. With those 3 you get 5X standards and it pretty much gives you an I-Win in terms of never botching on standard but the system pretty much forces you to have Makers Muse.
I was using pure Weaver and while I was spending half of the time saving a synth in truth I only lost 10% of them. Getting all crafts to 20 would get you all the elements and could be useful for high level crafting. Really it's all coming out in the wash. I planned to level all the crafts anyway. I just wasn't planning to do it all on one char. They might have tried to pair out better, the support abilities from each craft. The way it is right now, you lose alot of incentive to niche down multiple chars and that equals loss of multiple char money. It seems to work against SE. Considering they ran free for a year, money isn't something they are obsessed over though.
Well yeah the downside to all the abilities is that the system was balanced around you having access to all of them. But this is because, of course, they made the abilities so broken. Crafting is, more or less, OP lol. Now its more daunting then ever because you have to level up multiple crafts just to not get a headache while synthing stuff.Leather, Armor and Blacksmith to 10 is really all that's "needed" and it is needed.
