On top of it, aetherites are hubs, right on the road. They're not remote areas that require "exploring" to be reached. As such anima and teleportation don't influence exploration one bit.

They're just a timesaver that can be used not to travel through the same areas over and over (which has nothing to do with exploration), which is entirely boring in any game.

This said, they don't need to be the only means to travel faster than running.
Agreed. You can't explore the same thing over and over If you've already discovered it.

I like anima because it allows me to journey out and do others things without me having to run back every 15 minutes before a behest starts. Traveling back and forth through the same areas isn't fun to me and an added timesink hindering those with little of it(which is why I collected all the OP in XI). Anima also doesn't replenish that fast for anyone actively playing and not just on leve reset. Anima is something any active player has to learn to manage. Also there is no reason to remove it since it is basically an OP warp v2.0. Only difference is your nation doesn't matter, you can use it anywhere, and to balance it it's more limited in use.

That's exactly it. Anima actually *encourages* exploration, because it allows you to quickly reach areas that you *already* explored and fan out from there to explore further.

    Valid arguments aren't permitted here.

    That's a 50 dkp minus, mister.

Also, I thought people hated backtracking.

Can anyone say with complete honesty that they enjoyed having to walk around Merphitaud or Sauramonge more than once? If the answer is yes, do you also fancy introducing blunt objects to your family heirlooms at high speeds?
