GAmecon isn't the top event I would show at anyway. Yes they can show more before the end (maybe SE will themselves).

After Gamecon, SE will probably release another trailer (hint of it is in video). As well as their own video on changes.

OF course, playing it live and the suprise of it all is worth the wait.
