The difference between the people who like 11, and the people who hated it.

    People who loved it:

Are the people who succeded, those of us who were in endgame, who crunched numbers and maxed every build we had, who completed events like sky/sea/dynamis who had chances at getting relics/HNM gear, who could be appart of PW/AV attemps, have a ls large enough to have omega/ein mule rotations, who got the most out of everything and didnt mess around.

    People who hated it:

    Are the people that... didnt.

FF11 was competition, simple fact that with competition there will be more losers than winners, those that lost, will obv hate it. Generally why any "official" forums are dumb for any MMO, who do you think will complain the most... the people that win or lose? The fact that people think competition is something that shouldnt be in an online/multiplayer game just blows my mind... I mean... were getting "leaderboards" or something in 2.0, so i guess... "I have more achieve's than you"?

Most of the people i know wont even get on the forums and argue with these people because they know its full of trolls and sadly i cant convince them that for w/e reason the dev's actually pay attention to the things posted here. (That, or they actually know for a fact, they will make people cry and get banned because of it.)

I agree with this to a degree. But I helped run a gateway LS. We did endgame content, but we mainly trained newer players. That meant a lot of CoP runs. and a lot of sky, well after that content was considered obsolete. there were a lot of lessons to be learned in those zones, and that's what we wanted to do. teach players those lessons so they could do the other end-game content better.

In order to succeed you needed a good group. you needed people you were close with. people you could FAIL with. that's the real difference.

Everyone i met that did not succeed were not team players, or just bad at the game. they did not embrace being part of a community. being involved with the community mean you had a greater chance of success.

competition was mainly in claims. there was no PvP. at least no meaningful PvP.

Feedback is feedback. if the people who like something aren't saying they like it, how does SE know? i see a lot of love on the official forums too. it's not just people complaining. if you go into the 'complaint' threads you'll see a LOT of counter arguments. so can't agree.

I am looking forward to PvP.

There is a time and place for being Firm. and you're more likely to get a post deleted than banned. (i've gotten a few of mine deleted, and i understand why.) this isn't 4chan. while there are trolls, this forum is actually pretty tame compared to many others i've been on. (one reason i still post here fairly regularly)

It's like people who don't vote complaining about policy. if you're not willing to make your voice heard, dont' complain when a policy you don't like is introduced.
