Have you sold you items to a NPC, and buy the same item back from that NPC? What's the markup there? Hint: Try it with the grade 5 dark matter needed for repairs.

150% is dirt cheap. Personally I hardly even bother craft and sell any item that isn't at least 5x-10x of my material cost @ market. And even that is considered cheap in most cases.

Items are worth whatever people are willing to buy for them, yes. However, the game should supply a market system where it is easy to get an overview of what things cost, so that the process of supply/demand always is as well-oiled as it can be. I'm not sure if the current market system does this optimally, you know, with the whole not even being able to see what the +1 versions of popular gear is sold for thing going on.

    Two things:

    1) You said you understand a mark-up if an item takes a long time to craft and requires a lot of time to farm. What you're missing is that every high level item takes a long time to craft and requires a lot of time to farm.

You're only considering the time it takes to drop the mats into the crafting window and spam Standard to make the item. But in order to make a level 28 Ash Composite Bow, the crafter had to do all the crafts prior to that one to raise his/her level to be able to make the bow, and someone had to do all the gathering/fighting to raise his/her level high enough to gather those mats. And you have to factor in the crafting attempts that failed, and the mats were lost.

In other words, it takes a long time to be able to craft an Ash Composite Bow. Hundreds of crafting attempts, hundreds of farming attempts. So there are no items in the Market Wards that are cheap to make and take no time. They all take time and money to make.

    2) You're suggesting that items that are "cheap to make and take no time" should not be marked up? Then why would anyone make them and sell them in the Market Wards? The whole point of crafting is to either help your friends or make a profit. If you make it illegal for people to make a profit on low level goods, then no one is going to sell low level goods. And that would be a real problem for new players.

I see from your Lodestone profile that you've got Carp at level 9. (Congrats on that.) But you haven't even equipped a tool to level your other crafts. Yet your Arc is level 30, and your Conj is level 15. (Again, congrats on that.) So it seems you're familiar with the cost of leveling your own crafts, and aren't willing to do it. That's fine, but be aware that other people have put in the time, they've probably spent millions of gil on tools and mats to level their crafts, and so they're not just going to make goods for you for free.

If you honestly think prices are too high, then you should start crafting. You can sell items at a reasonable price, and everyone will buy from you because your prices will be so much lower. Then you'll have tons of money, and won't have any problems spending 50K on a bow. But again, you're going to have to put in the time to level your crafts, buy the tools, gather the mats, etc., all by yourself At that point, I have a feeling you're not going to sell items based solely on the cost of the mats to make that one item. I could be wrong, and if so, I'd love to have you on my server.

not trying to prove anything. they've already stated the truth. do you know what the simple truth is?

if you don't think an item is worth 50k and someone else does and is willing to spend 50k on the item then it IS WORTH 50k. an item is worth what someone will pay for it. if you don't think it's worth the price then stop crying, buy your mats, level your craft, and make it yourself or just get a friend that will make it for you.

your unwillingness to buy an item from a crafter is not hurting the crafter because someone else is willing to buy at that price so the item still sells.

if you can't bother to level your crafts, that is the price you pay to benefit from the hours of work others have put in. That individual item didn't take that much time to get, but it took someone weeks to reach the required level. That crafter possibly lost some money on crafting trash items to level up.

Live with it. 50k is by no means overpriced. 40 million is.
