No, you're not the first to do that and this isn't the first ls rec thread on the general forums.
But since you're here, please grab something to eat and pick a chair. Funny thread.
I like talking to you guys. ô¿ô
Brown nosing aside I just wanted to communicate my particular opinion, that the BG name is something I'm proud of. People suggesting that we might want to change the name of the LS because it's got a bad reputation makes me want to provide my own perspective.
No one is crying "OMGHAXX!" It's the fact that it still lies under "Third Party Tool" usage against the TOS, it doesn't have to give anyone an unfair advantage, not only that, it analyzes game data, something that was also mentioned in the TOS.
The creators of the parser already had cease and desist orders by SE before anyway.
and yet you are only using it to drag one LS's name through the mud which is laughable

Also if you want to define that BGParser as a 3rd Party Tool that manipulates game data (which it doesn't) you could then say everyone using
Window's Operating System
Should be banned because hitting Alt+Tab+Delete to bring up task manager to Force Crash the application (Quicker log out than PS3 players! Unfair Advantage!) and to possibly monitor RAM usage is also abusing a Third Party Application.

Bring Quality Notorious Monsters to FFXIV!

Not to mention you have an entire sub-forum on this very website with players actively analyzing what you deem to be as "game data"Please read what I posted.

Ok so just curious about this.No one is crying "OMGHAXX!" It's the fact that it still lies under "Third Party Tool" usage against the TOS, it doesn't have to give anyone an unfair advantage, not only that, it analyzes game data, something that was also mentioned in the TOS.

If i were to go into my FFXIV logs folder on my computer and read the combat logs that the game itself creates, analyse the data shown in those logs and work out the breakdowns for damage done, crit chance, hit chance, min damage, max damage, average damage etc etc in my head and wrote them down.
Would that be against the TOS in your opinion?
Because it amuses me to think that my brain could be considered a "Third Party Tool".

Im not sure I want to read it. As much as I like to use the BG website to get my questions answered by "the pros", the BG people themselves are kind of pretentious epeeners. I like to get them to help me when I need strategic advice etc, but I keep them at an arms length otherwise.
With all due respect, it's not really anyone's business and people need to stop harassing this ls for recruiting. They are super elites, pity their wasted lives, don't make their lives any worse than they already are.I can understand that, but you can be quite sure that 24 man content isn't going to exist until there are enough people to tackle it. They (and we) are expecting the playerbase to grow to at least some degree following A Realm Reborn's release. If you took in some of the incoming people that you spy potential in, rather than making a shout out on these forums to all perfect people, then you might actually end up in a better position. Not every non-elite player is satisfied with their current status and wants to become something better, but how do they show this to you? That's what I want to know. Your standard is essentially nothing short of perfection (based on your semi-inflammatory 'about us" page). what BG needs is fresh blood that isn't perfect, but at the same time isn't fully happy to settle for "good enough."
In my case, and in the case of many others on this forum, we want to be awesome but the problem is getting a group that can stay together consistently. With this game in particular, even when you run into good peiople, sometimes you never see them again even a week from now with the current "check out this patch then go away til the next one" mentality. Hope that shifts a bit after ARR.
~edit
Well, you have to wonder why everyone is thinking this. There's three reasons
1) Past reputation, which is nearly impossible to get over without a real identity change;
2) The OP for this thread, which has a rather elitist tone;
3) The "About us" page. Seriously, this is where it gets really bad. It's borderline offensive to the average player.
