Open Recruitment Season, more like Open Season on Blue Gartr? Am I right? guys.... c'mon that was a decent joke. but in all seriousness, you all were very brave to seek recruits in General Discussion. this place is essentially Arkham Asylum.

Fair enough, in this particular instance it was posted by somebody outside the LS, so I'll give you that. If the intention is not to have them viewed by the public, why have them viewable by anyone outside the LS to begin with? It seems like a system designed to be abused. It's not hard to lock down a section of a forum. As I said before WE did not make that public. Someone outside our LS posted that persons app, it was not a member of BG by any means, so before you go point fingers and accusing us of not being classy, please read the thread of even at least the most recent page before you post.
I'll also just reiterate what other posters have already said, fixing that intro page will go a long way towards improving first impressions of your LS. When I first started this game, I came across your LS site and was very much turned off by that intro page. You say in there that you guys want a relaxing atmosphere, but every single line after that indicates otherwise.
Competitive is fine, 'holier than thou' is not.

I'm not an officer so I'm going to refrain from addressing the negativity in the thread.
I just wanted to stop by and thank everyone who has applied so far. We've had some great applications in my opinion.
Also I appreciate all the good words from those people here who understand what BG is really about.
Everyone on Durandal - I'll see you in game.
Let's have some fun ô¿ô
It's view able outside the LS so applicants can view and edit their apps once they've submitted them, it's a feature of Guildwork (the host for our website) that we do not control, so there's not much we can do about it. If people are ashamed or embarrassed by their apps then maybe they should work on them harder? It hasn't ever been a problem in the past 2 years.Fair enough, in this particular instance it was posted by somebody outside the LS, so I'll give you that. You're right out "about us" page is outdated, so we'll take a look into it.
As far as "holier than thou" goes, it seems most of the community is very far off on this one, and I don't see the right to judge unless you've been around our shell or on our vent. Everyone gets along very well and 90% of the time we're joking and laughing about stupid stuff on vent, or talking about food...
I don't really think asking for intelligent, mature, English-speaking non-douchebags is all THAT demanding, or how any of those contradict having casual atmosphere.
(if you're talking about the about page on Guildwork, anyway)
Going to assume you're talking to Molly because I quoted Rau and didn't mention BG in my post. Though this does beg the question of how he obtained a link to that application. I'd have to assume the application forum is public, which is just silly. As I said before WE did not make that public. edit: Nevermind, answered above.
You never did CC!? *kicked*It's not the achievement, it's rubbing their alleged greatness in people's faces and treating everyone that hasn't achieved as much as them as some sort of lower class of people. Fortunately, not everyone in the LS is like that, but the cases where it has happened stick out like a sore thumb. I do see a genuine interest by some to change that perception, but it's going to take a while (that about page has got to go, as I said- that's too far). They can do it if they really want to though, and I recognize a few people like the OP who aren't intending to rub things in, as it were.
You never did AV? *kicked*
You never did DH? *kicked*
You never did Ifrit, Garuda, Moogle!? *kicked*
How dare you be in a LS other than ours!? *kicked*
Not using add-ons and bots!? *kicked!* HOW DARE YOU FOLLOW SE's TERMS OF SERVICE!?

If they truly wanted a laid-back and relaxing atmosphere they wouldn't even make apps a requirement in the first place.
Even though I have nothing against them personally I remember viewing their app requirements once and it said you had to submit a video of your gameplay and gearsets -- whether that was joking or not it's very offputting for the 'layman' gamer who may be seeking an end-game shell.
