    Looking for a Weaver/advice.

Hey all. I'm pretty new to the game, so because I'm not up to date on the best places to find gear, I'm still rolling around in level 8 gear. As a nearly level 30 Conjurer, that's probably not a good thing.

So, what course of action would you suggest I take to get some weaving done? Is it inexpensive enough to level to 35 or so, which would get me the recipes I need to craft my own Level 27 gear. Or, am I better off trying to acquire materials and then asking a weaver to synth them for me? For the record, I only have about 55,000 gil, so I'm not exactly bursting at the seams with money.

Basically, I would like to acquire the following:

    - Dated Canvas Hat
    - Dated Canvas Robe
    - Dated Canvas Shepherd's Slops
    - Dated Leather Espadrilles
    - Dated Leather Shepherd's Belt
    - Dated Leather Bracers

Preferably all in the same color, of course. Any help/suggestions/etc would be appreciated.

To be honest, you could probably level up your conjurer to 50 by the time you'd get your weaver to 35 as you suggested. Get to around level 30 you can start getting into exp parties and it starts to go faster there. You'll get to 50 in no time.

If you really really wanna start leveling weaver, the lower level was pretty cheap for me(somewhat) but I think you will need a little bit more then 55k to get you to 35. I forget the recipes and I'm typing this on my phone so it'll be a pain to keep switching, but mooglebox has all the info you need for recipes. What I did was select recipes uptop and select weaver all. There are some good dated recipes you can get but the majority of the new recipes for weaver are the best for leveling. In my personal experience, I found dated recipes best at higher leveling of crafts.

I have weaver at 50, so if you need anything you can /tell me on Excalibur : Pistol Pete

And if you'd like, I will post a guide here as well for you of you really want to level weaver up.

Ps on mooglebox, I'm guessing this your first craft, I'd say look into recipes 5 levels above you. Or even better level all crafts to lvl 10 together their basic abilities that'll help even more.

Personally I would churn through guildleves solo on conjurer nuking the crap out of everything, once you get to around 38 try level 40 leves which generally between 5k to 10k gil each. Try to jump into drybone caravans when you are high enough. The seals will come in handy. A nuking conjurer is actually very capable of soloing. Gnats are very weak to conjurers elements for example.

If your main is conjurer, i suppose you will be maining WHM, in which case nearly all WHMs wear full AF gear so crafting gear is not really an issue.

If you were to craft, just do local leves from Uldah. Most will be provided by the npc in town, the others drybone->horizon->bluefog mostly so you can make intelligent use of return homepoints.

You'l most likely want to synth yarns and cloths with leves in between. Remember you can buy raw materials from the weavers guild, usually cheaper than buying from the market wards

I would also say its better to save up rested xp for crafting. If you manage to obtain seals from caravans you can stack crafting scrolls and rested xp and food for +103% xp which certainly helps with crafting.

If you want to farm your own raw materials, gear up botany with a primary and secondary tool.
Using the secondary tool make cycles of harvesting the 3 harvest spawns (not logging spawns) near blackbrush, and then the 3 around drybone, and then the 3 near horizon. Your target will be cotton bolls. Its mindless and relatively quick to do, your botanist will go up quite quickly. If you get your botanist to around 23 or 24 go to fields of glory in coerthas and cycle the 4 harvesting spawns there so you can store up some Flax for later levels in weaver (dont worry about going to coerthas so low, there is nothing near the 4 harvesting spawns that will aggro you at that level)

use http://ffxiv.mozk-tabetai.com/ to see what items are at each grade of botany
use http://disciplesoftheland.com/Maps.aspx to see the harvesting spawn points, filter out everything except the green "H" icon (represents harvesting). You will then easily see there are 3 or 4 harvest spawns around each camp.

Really as you can see weaver and botany go hand in hand. once you are 50 weaver you will see a lot of raw materials will be from 50 botany, and you will want +1's to make gear like Vanya mage set. No need to buy +1 raw materials if you can harvest them yourself.

Stupid question, but is there any Weaver gear that is BLM/WHM compatible? I think I looked up just Conjurer/WHM items, but I came to the realization that I would rather play a BLM like I did in FFXI (at least for now).

Regardless, thank you both for the advice. I was able to get up to about 250k from doing main story quests, so I'm doing okay gil-wise I suppose. Is that enough to make some reasonable progress in Weaver?

I will definitely check out mooglebox, and will look into Botany. I assume Eorzeapedia is a good resource for a basic understanding of Botany. I don't mind the monotony of farming...I did countless hours of mining in WoW, and just went through the Grand Company quests to get my chocobo, so monotonous exercises don't bother me.

Lastly, is this Vanya set better than AF gear? Assuming, again, that I'm going with BLM and not WHM.

Thanks again guys, really appreciate the massive knowledge drop.

Vanya gear is class only so you can only use it on CNJ and THM, not BLM or WHM.
