The perfect marketing strategy

This will probably go unnoticed like my past frequent harping about using Chuck Norris as a marketing aid (what a dumb idea that was) but I am going to throw it out there anyways. Im tired so I probably won't do the idea justice, but w/e.

Basically, SE is best able to use CGI and some in game footage with an added voice-over to tell a story. These trailers are usually very interesting and powerful and are good marketing strategies. Unlike, WoW which is known for its off the wall sense of humor SE cannot got the route of having a famous person joke about how they have an alternate personality in a video game. And I don't advise they do.

My idea is silly, ridiculous even and would probably be hard to achieve and finance but if Yoshi really has faith in the quality of FF14 2.0 this would definitely increase the buzz on the internet and around the water cooler regarding FF14. Hype could go through the roof, on par or exceeding pre 1.0 release.


Idea:

Do the classic SE FF trailer with lots of CGI and great looking gameplay footage. Write out an enthralling, sound-bite ridden voice-over and have it read by one of the most recognizable, renowned and respected voices in Hollywood and the world:

I just thought if SE actually did this, it could cause so much awe and hilarity that FF14 2.0 would be on the lips of thousands of people in North America, Europe and maybe other continents. If 2.0 is truly a quality remake and SE can handle the hype, what better way to achieve it?


Ok, I know I bash SE, Yoshi and most of you people all the time. So you can all have at me now.


EDIT: I need to get Reinhart to do this up in Japanese, so I can add it to my post. Really want to increase the chances of Yoshi seeing this and SE jumping all over MF before WoW does.

I agree with this, SE should play to their strengths, I think the ARR trailer, with some ingame footage needs to be on worldwide TV, just to peak interest, I know people who really want to play ARR just from the trailer, getting it on TV worldwide will get a lot more people interested.

I have seen FFXIII trailers on UK TV, I think some FFXIII-2 trailers (not too sure) but I never saw any FFXI trailers, we need trailers on TV.

Thanks, although Theplatter has recently informed me that it is not unique to me. But it could still work if SE pumps money into a good amount of TV ads.

FF11 had trailers and they were great, imo. FF14 ads with Morgan Freeman would be Epic, whether his voice has been used in MMO ads or not.
