Ideas for a Final Fantasy: A Realm Reborn mobile apps.

Moko grass or crystals, I'd be fine with, although it could begin that slippery slope of "cash shop like". Vanity armor like the yukatas, I'd be fine with. Familiars or skills for Beastmaster, not ok with. That turns it into a "necessity".

I did think of one thing I'd like to see that I'd forgotten about. If raising chocobos via app is possible, then I'd also like to see the ability to check my garden via app.

Well, some Familiars would be one-of-a-kind. A card could be included in a magazine, say like GameInformer or something. I remember when Nintendo did it with their Pokemon cards by putting one in their Nintendo Power magazine and then one in a strategy guide (the one for the guide was a HORRIBLE idea; I would go to the store and I'd find guides with the section with the card ripped out and open as someone stole it). So yeah, I'm thinking that including a card in a magazine wouldn't be a good idea...

See, then no, totally against it. This is a game with a subscription. I don't want to have to pay extra for random chances (or even certain ones) at "necessary" things to fullfill my role in the game.

Well, I had to do the same with some other games such as Final Fantasy XI. I know it wasn't necessary to buy the add-on scenarios, but I did buy them just to see how things were. So you wouldn't buy a pack of randomized cards for $5.99?

I wouldn't either. Random chance per 6 bucks to maybe get a pet that everyone wants me to have for X dungeon, is worst case senario, and i think, a terrible idea.

If we're talking chocobo walkies and you find chocobo food for raising chocobos, sounds fine. When we're talking dropping cash on random packs of cards for classes, i'm as against it as Azraelle is. Its like hoping you get the Invigorate card so class X isn't gimped with less TP then the guy standing next to you. RNG gets a bad rap already for how often its used, but it doesnt cost me 6 bucks per chance.

Keep it simple and fun. Besides utility information keep the items bonus. Get some chocobo food via app or gathering in game. Theres a sad theme in most MMO games that if its not optimum its worthless (check the recent quest-based leveling threads. Some are not pleased that they will have to do Quest leveling. Theres more options then that, but if its optimum, no other option exsists in their mind)

Theres no reason to get the best stuff from a smartphone app. Its supposed to be something cool and related to the game you play. Not required or optimum for anything, in my opinion.

-Linkshell/Free Company app to chat with your LS/company members or even friends in your FL. Maybe even an event planner implemented to organize events, check who's gonna be available for it and also as a reminder in case you forget.
-Retainer app for whatever purpose they'll have in the future.
-Moogle mail to check messages when you aren't connected.

I know this was mentioned on another thread in the general discussion, but it would be cool if we could have an offline Bestiary to view the monsters we have fought, observed, etc. in A Realm Reborn. We can then look at the monsters on-the-go and such, zoom in, move the camera around them and whatnot. It would make the Bestiary app like our own PokeDex. Of course, we would have to sync the Bestiary app to our game's character data and update it whenever we play the game.
