Regarding Treasure Chests and Their Drops

I assume you're talking about the random treasure chests that pop up in leve quests. Personally I found them quite useful while solo leveling an alt of mine from scratch recently. The boosts the food can give can be quite nice, not to mention the XP boosts. The free gil isn't unwelcome and neither is the random piece of gear that's often good for that level range.

I mean they're not the best drops in the world but they appear in the middle of leves, what do you really expect? If you don't deem the rewards worth getting off your chocobo then don't.

The rewards that treasure chests drop are so pointless that there is almost no point in having them. Who would hide a bowl of fish soup in a treasure chest anyway?

I while I understand the importance of not having anything too valuable hidden away in them, I think it would be kind of fun and interesting to have something like a set of purely cosmetic level 1 trophy gear drop with a really low drop rate or something. Would make coming across a treasure chest while I'm spending endless hours gathering slightly more exciting and make the whole process a little less stale.

Just a thought, with what they currently drop they don't have any purpose at all.
