Awesome, I wanted to reply to your post there but couldn't, the registration is a pain in the ass.
Do you not realize that just because someone is against a particular change, that does not translate to being against any change? Changing stuff just for the sake of changing them got the developers into this situation in the first place. It's not enough that things change- it has to make sense too. These threads with people fighting against autoattack are absurd.
If the current system is poor, why not build from there? Do you think the current system can not be improved in any way? Why is jumping implemented when the areas of the game do not require more than the removal of some of the invisible walls that exist currently, making jumping rather pointless addition? These are the questions people are asking. Very few, if any, are against any change. Some people are simply not content with just anything, as long as it's a change.
lol, I'm so glad you made this thread.
I personally think the fan base is low is because SE worked too hard to make this game soo much different then FFXI which was a huge success.
I think they made a game to market to people who have never been a fan of Final Fantasy to draw in new genres of players in the persuit of the all mighty dollar. The game was made so that all ages and skill levels (lack there of) can feel warm and fuzzy acheiving everything they set out to do. I know alot of ppl that have gone back to playing FFXI including myself and I don't think I have heard of anyone that has played all of the FF games speak highly of XIV. You can't throw fish on a bun and call it a hamburger. The result of the extreme changes to the FF template has left a whole lot of final fantasy fans feeling insulted and abandoned.
