i think one thing that the final fantasy games had in common was immersion. you felt connected to the world and the characters. thats what made ffxi so successful. the game you feel connected to your character that you spent months and years developing. it made it really difficult to put that character down or worse case, delete em.

everything about final fantasy is their ablilty to draw you in and keep you interested. playing 90hrs of ffvii sounds daunting but those hours just flew right by me. i was really into the game and everything became fun although someone else might see it as a grind.

i think i've finally realized what we've all lost here in ffxiv. if only SE waited another year to release the game while tanaka and his crew were busy getting it ready/finished, we would've had an amazing game. i look back at it now and i dont blame tanaka but more SE for trying to push it out early. they only have themselves to blame and we're the ones who are paying for it.

    Tanaka.

Hell, i must say that the core system from FFXIV is what made me love it. The game was (when Tanaka was kicked) in a raw way (still is) but the quality of the core systems and ideas behind it were unique and, if he had more time, i bet it would be superior in every single aspect than FFXI when we reached septemper (first anniversary).

I support Yoshida since now he's the one in charge...but if i could chose i'd stay with Tanaka in a heartbeat.
