What about carpooling? It could be a great idea to dramatically narrow the costs for you UK people!

Actually it doesn't cost us much to use plane! With a low cost company, can do London/Köln for £100 return.

By car you would spend at least £200 (gas + ferry), so unless you have 3+ people it doesn't really worth it. (even with 3, the difference doesn't worth the hassle I think). If anything, the most annoying part is finding a place to sleep :[

My car is tiny. Anyone wanting to sit in the back of a mini for 500 miles would be crazy.

OK, well whether taking a plane is more profitable, go for it as the trip is fairly shorter/more comfortable.

What he said. There are signs for cars that get you to the parking lots (about 8€ fee for the day afair), you leave your car there then switch to the free shuttle bus that takes you to the convention itself.

I imagine getting there by public transport will be even easier. Also yeah, most German people speak English decently. I am so pissed I can't come... because I have to be elsewhere that week, else I'd suggest to meet some of you >_<
