The culture of the Garlean empire is no better than any other nation. They have a military dictatorship and have been systematically unifying any culture that is different from their own. I'd prefer to live in a world with multiple cultures that respect each other, even if they don't approve of how they live.

While I don't think Darnus is following the exact commands of the emperor is relation to the meteor plot, I still don't think what the rest of the empire is doing is something I'd want to be a part of.

Very well, put, Azury! ^^ However, about the opera house: The continent might not yet boast one, but you'd be surprised to learn that last weekend I attended a supendous performance of Miqo'letto which was presented by the Eorzean Lyric Atelier at, of all places, the Ul'dahn Coliseum. Other than the pitiful conducting, and the rather boomy acoustics, the performance was a delight. A simple but elegant staging, and some of the most beautiful young voices of the continent. Although it was well attended, it was not exactly sold out. My main complain was that the mainly Ul'dahn audience kept applauding at the wrong places. But I won't fault their enthusiasm.

They have already announced a Winter Season which will include favorites like The Barber of Gridania and The Elixir of Doom. Talk to Momodi, to inquire about both subscription and individual-performance ticket prices.

right and wrong don't exist. Of course I wouldn't want to be killed, but if I know they can kill me it makes more sense to ally with them than to let them kill me or to pointlessly fight.

and what if they refuse to ally with you? what if they are so convinced in thier cultural/racial/ideological superiority that they will a) kill you regardless because you are inferior. or b) suffer your existance as a slave, with the option to kill you if you don't meet thier expectactions? In that scenario, only a fool would not stand and fight.
