Legacy players protest to getting into 2.0 Beta!

I would really love to be in the closed beta! I even resubscribed after a year's absence to get Legacy, in the hopes that 2.0 will be awesome. But despite this, I do agree that they really need new players and people who weren't willing to stick around when the game turned out to be a "flop". It will be nice if they have a mix of some current players and some new people.

So I'll only be disappointed if for some reason there is no open beta I can try, no matter how short it may be.

That's fair, but also, 2.0 would never be actualized if SE only listened to this community, because like he said, we still enjoy eating the food even though it's shit. The primary reason why there is a 2.0 is not because of us. It is because of the community out there that got up in droves, slammed this game with negative reviews (which it deserved), and they left.

I want to see a healthy mix of them, of us legacy players, and of totally brand new players who never touched FF 14 before, as closed beta testers.

I'm all cool with that then but you won't see me demanding to be in it lol

When I look at the roadmap, I do not see a beta phase for the PC version. I do only see a beta phase for the PS3 version, which indeed starts in November 2012 and ends in January 2013. For the PC version I see the free trial phase starting with the beta of the PS3 version.

It also says that on the last page of the outline:

October to November 2012 –Reinstate limited free trial period for PC version
-Commence PlayStation®3 system closed beta test

Yes, we've been through the thick and thin. That's why we got the rewards we have. It isn't a reason to be cocky and overexpecting. We're not entitled to anything, Legacy or not.

I just beat Final Fantasy XIV yesterday (Darnus was HARRRDDD ; ; ) and to be honest: While I'd love to be in the beta, I'm more excited to finally enter the Crystal Tower for keeps.

That's not to say I wouldn't participate in the beta if I got in. That would be a nice bonus.

I hoped to be in the Beta to help too. Most people do betas as if theyre playing the real game, and thats fine, some people need to do that... But I always intentionally do stuff that no one else is doing. During 1.0 beta, while others were battling mobs, I was lvl (rank) 3, exploring the corners of Mor Dhona, and talking to NPCs in distant camps.

We need feed back from both Legacy and non Legacy-players but the most feed back SE should get is people who never played a FF online mmo before.

The last thing that this game needs to is to listen to only this community during beta.

For legacy players... Beta or not you're going to play the game. You're part of a very small minority of MMO players that will eat shit and enjoy it. They need people who cast this game off after launch to tell them whats wrong in 2.0. Not you.
